His collection also includes homemade videos of Grisha and his friends putting on impromptu drag shows - a hobby they took up just over a year ago -- and pirated copies of erotic films that a friend of his bought in Poland. When Grisha's apartment was robbed two years ago, much of his video collection was stolen, which ended up leading to an interesting encounter with the local police, he says.
"The thieves stole my two VCR's and a bunch of videos and CD's. When the police arrived, they only had two questions: 'Why are you wearing an earring?' and 'Why do two men live here with only one bed?'," he recalls. "They didn't seem to care at all about the robbery.
"But the thieves were eventually caught, and my stuff was recovered. So I went down to the police station to pick everything up. When I told them who I was and that I had come to pick up my videos and VCR's, the policeman behind the desk gave me a funny look and said, 'You have some interesting things here.' Then he wouldn't give them back unless I brought him two bottles of champagne as a bribe, which I did.
"He gave me my things, but then I noticed later that one of the erotic tapes was missing," Grisha says. "They say that one in every ten men is gay, so I figure some policeman has added a new video to his collection."
