2006/08/24. Russian Information Agency "Novosti", quoting a source from Moscow Law Enforcement Agencies, relayed information regarding an attack in an apartment inhabited by several gays at Novokuzminskaya Street #2/8, in the south-east of the capital.

According to the source, a group of young adults broke into one of the apartments, occupied by homosexuals, and attacked them with hand-weapons.

"As a result of the attack, four people suffering knife wounds were rushed to on of the city's hospitals. Of these, one is in a coma and another is in extremely critical condition," sites the source.

A search is underway to capture the perpetrators. No details have been released.

As previously reported, this is the 6th attack on gays this year in Russia. In Saratov, during the New Year Holiday, the famous poet-song-writer Yuri Druzhkov, author of the hit songs from the 90s, "Bukgalter," "Ksyusha" and "Lexa" was killed.

During the first half of January, journalist Vitaly Lazarenko was cruelly murdered in his Moscow apartment. In March, journalist of TV Station NTV Ilya Zimin was found dead in his apartment. In April in Novosibirsk, a soldier/prostitute suffocated his client after sex. Finally, in May Special Coorespondant of TV Program "Delovaya Moscva" (Business Moscow), shown on Channel TVTS, 37 year old Vyacheslav Akatov was killed.
