Recall International Film Festival "Bok o bok" was to be held in St. Petersburg in October 2-5, 2008.
It was planned to show feature films from Europe, America and Asia, reflecting concerns of LGBT relations.
According to organizers, the film was to create a positive dialogue with the public and build tolerance in Russian society.
However, organizers were not able to find the place for festival. At first, Film theatre and Film Center "Peak" refused to give the place, despite the tentative agreement.
Then, firemen inspectors appeared in nightclubs "The Place" and "Sochi", which agreed to let Festival use their space. They searched the clubs and drew up a deed of their improper condition.
On Thursday, October 2, both clubs had been closed to the public. They are not working so far.
