Moscow holds 3rd International Conference on HIV/AIDS in October 2009
2 Jan. 2009

EECAAC logoThe Third International Conference on HIV/AIDS concerning countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is to be held in Moscow October 28-30, 2009.

We'd like to inform you that two previous conferences on HIV/AIDS in Eastern Europe and Central Asia in 2006 and 2008 were of a great international interest and have created unprecedented opportunity at regional level to exchange experience and know-how on a regular basis between politicians, doctors, representatives of academia and public, HIV infected people and blood donors, all those who are involved in the hard work aimed at fighting HIV infection.

This conference organised under the support of leading international organisations such as UNAIDS, The Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and International AIDS Society would give an important impulse for politicians and health care officials to be more in touch with the AIDS issue and to broaden activities in spheres of securing of universally free access to preventive measures, precaution, cure, care and nursing of HIV positive people.

The Russian Federation was not only an organiser of such an important international meeting but also was the major supporting party of the Conference on HIV/AIDS in Eastern Europe & Central Asia in 2008 and intends to further contribute to steady raising of mutual efforts in fighting HIV/AIDS in the region.
