Unbelievably true and melancholic comedy about drag-queen stars in a Russian gay club is expected to come out in Russian cinema theaters in the first decade of September 2009. The movie's trailer is now available in the Internet at http://www.veselchaki-film.ru/film.html. Trailer's slogan is "Non-traditional Comedy", it's epigraph is the final phrase of the famous Oscar won comedy "Some like it Hot" (1959):
Jerry: Oh, you don’t understand, Osgood! Ehhh... I am a man...
Osgood: Well, nobody’s perfect.
The "Vesel'chaki" movie now is being compared with famous not only among gay community picture "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert". "Vesel'chaki"'s script writer is Mr.Felix Mikhaylov, he managed the outstanding playwright of these famous modern Russian actors - Renata Litvinova, Ingeborge Dapkunaite, Andrey Rudenskiy, Eugeniya Dobrovolskaya and others.
Ville Haapasalo as Rosa, Danila Kozlovskiy (Lusie), Ivan Nikolayev (Helya), Paul Brun (Lara), Alexey Klimushkin (Fira). All these actors are males who play drag-queens. Composer is Andrey Danylko (Verka Serdjuchka).
There are five persons: they are males but as artists they play drag-queens. Some of them are gay, others are straight... Their life is not an easy one in a world that often misunderstands them or even rejects. But they have survived and invented their own little world - Drag-queens' show. In chic women dresses and with vivid bright make-up they fully enjoy themselves in night clubs as being drag-queen stars.
They are totally different and do not resemble each other nor at the stage nor in common life. They are of different age and with diverse characters and mood, habits and dreams. But the life circumstances made them close to each other for a while...
Five novels, five human dramas are depicted in a bright and redundant entourage of the show that sometimes, they should admit, does not completely heals their feelings of depression and loneliness...
