Rainbow NewsSecond Silence Day to be held in Russia
24 Apr. 2009
An action - a silent protest against homophobia and a call for tolerance - organised by group of gay members of the Russian LGBT community will be held for the second time tomorrow in several Russian cities: Saint-Petersburg, Novokuznetsk, Yaroslavl, Perm and many others. Silence Day's organiser - "Coming out" (Vykhod) LGBT organisation from Saint-Petersburg have notified the Administration of Central District of Saint-Petersburg about their intention to hold such an action. The action will take place near Fyodor Dostoevsky monument close to "Vladimirskaya" metro station. The participants of the silent protest action will have their mouths stick up with scotch and they will be handing out to passers-by leaflets telling about gay-hate crimes and calling for tolerance. Moreover, activists are planning to perform mute mini-scenes.
