Under the patronage of Kirill I - the Patriarch of All-Russia, the 13th Universal Russian People’s Assembly took place in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. One of the topics of the Assembly’s agenda were the issues of homosexuality’s propaganda and methods of fighting against homosexuals.
That problem was discussed in the speech of Mr. Vladimir Krupin, a well-known Russian writer, who is also the co-chairman of Writer’s Union of Russia. He proposed to "educate" gays with the help of Cossack’s lash and soldiers from airborne troops (usually they hate gays), who would shift the celebration of the Air cavalry Day from August to May, when gays celebrate the IDAHO Day. Mr. Krupin also touched upon the total replacement of jury by canon courts, ban of Soldiers Mothers' Committees and other issues.
It was not his first gay-hate statement. In 2007 during the 9th Universal Russian People's Assembly he said that "our enemy was very well armed to the teeth, its weapons were boor's confidence in its impunity. Otherwise how one could explain a 24-hour propaganda of violence, vulgarity, debauchery and lust?. Its weapons were also stupid jokes and silly laughter, cynical and annoying commercials..."
"You tell me about marital ties? Well, sexual minorities do exist now. Uh, how much do we have to do in order to reach advanced countries. In England homosexuals now have the right to get married in churches, but in New Zealand - even elephants enjoy that right!"
