Later this year in November Moscow will held "Embracing the Force" - a representative international forum organised by LGBT Christians of almost every trend. The conference is organised within the framework of "Nuntiare et Recreare" service with the help of the Russian LGBT Network - an Inter-Regional Russian Social Movement. The service "Nuntiare et Recreare" exists since 2000 and is the only one religious organisation that collaborates and worships together with LGBT believers from different religious groups.
"The anti-gay stance of the title religious group in Russia - the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow's Patriarchate, is seen clear and bold in its official documents as well as in its blessings of violence towards LGBT people. The position of the majority of Protestant Churches on the territory of the former Soviet Union is very much close to the conservative's one if not fundamentalists' one. The Roman Catholic Church in Russia prefers to pass over the gay issues in silence, referring to the heterosexist doctrine of the Ñatechism.
Under these circumstances LGBT Christians have nothing to do but unite and raise their voices in order to change the present day situation with gay issues and Christianity", declare organisers of this religious conference. "We welcome everyone - theologists, priests, LGBT activists and simply all believers that follow the commandments of the Bible and Jesus Christ's precepts - those who are not indifferent to gay issues and LGBT Christians' present day status in Russia and the CIS."
