November 20-22nd of 2009, an International Interfaith LGBT-Christian Conference "Accepting Strength" is planned to take place in Moscow. Preparations for the conference are in their final stages.
According to the organizers of the conference, the participants have one goal in front of them - "to unite and raise their voices to change the current situation ... in which LGBT-Christians are excommunicated from their respective churches."
"...the International Interfaith LGBT-Christian Conference is positioned to become a breath of freedom for many LGBT-Christians and to show the LGBT community, as well as society in general, that LGBT-Christians have something to offer churches as well the LGBT community and society," - as quoted from the official press release.
"We invite everyone who is not indifferent to the situation in post-Soviet countries of LGBT-Christians to participate in this conference: theologians, priests, gay activists and ordinary believers - everyone for whom Christian faith is a way of life ..." appeal the organizers of the forum.
