On November 13th the national live broadcasting of the on-line address to the nation of Nursultan Nazarbayev (Kazakhstani president) takes place. He is going to give answers to the questions of his people who send it via special Internet site or call center.
LGBT community of this Central Asian republic uses this chance to remind the authorities about its existence. Some people want to know the opinion of Nazarbayev on same-sex marriage. Kazakhstani gay site Gay.Kz calls for voting in favor of this question (follow the link). For reference - in 2006 the former Russian President Vladimir Putin used the same scheme.
There were 1005 questions under the topic of "Sexual minorities" and the most frequent and asked one was on the same-sex marriage. Unfortunately it was kept in silence. Let us believe that Kazakhstani gays would be more lucky...
