For reference: "Lesbian prose" would be the 3rd experience in a row to publish LGBT non-fiction books. In different times in Russia there were several attempts to establish an annual fiction literature publication for lesbians and feminists. One of the positive results of it was establishment and on-going activity of the literature magazine "Ostrov" (Island), chaired by Olga Gert.
In 2006 the significant event was the publication of the Lesbian prose anthology by "Kolonna" publishing house. The first edition of Lesbian prose was published by "Kvir" editors' house in 2008. In the end of 2009 a new book in a series of Lesbian prose 2009 was published. Olga Zhuk, Natalia Rubanova, Masha Lenina, Marina Chen and others sent their writings to the editors of the 3rd Edition of the Lesbian prose.
