Two and a half years later the dweller of Samara city, who was recently sentenced for jail by local Lenin district court, can be released under conditional early discharge. Unnamed Russian national has cruelly beaten to death a 22-year old gay man near the local gay club on the Airborne forces' Day (August 1st, 2009). The murderer allegedly accuses the victim in "sexual harassment near one of the city's gay-clubs".
The judgement of the court -imprisonment for five and a half years of settlement - is the minimal sentence for the crime committed.
Portal 63.ru reports that notwithstanding the witnesses's testimonials, saying that the accused man firstly had beaten the victim in the head and then for a long time had been bashing him up by feet, the crime "Murder" (article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code), that initially was figured out in the crime case, later was substituted on the article 111 part 4 of the Criminal Code "Premeditated infliction of bodily harm that caused the death of the victim".
Samara's human rights defendants, relatives and friends of the victim have already questioned that "gentle" sentence.
