The new helpline for gays and lesbians in Russia called LGBT-phone. The Russian LGBT Network Hotline commenced 24 hours support services on July 5th, 2010.
The hotline, 8-800-555-08-68 will provide 24 hour support , advice and couselling 7 days a week to the LGBT community in Russia as well as their friends and relatives.
Specially trained volunteers will provide support to everyone and answer any question from legal to psychological counselling. This project is supported by Civil Rights Defenders.
Since February, 2010 a helpline for LGBT called "RAINBOW" is working in Russia. This free service from anywhere in Russia on the 8-800 platform.
Their free phone line 8-800-200-54-28 is waiting for calls from gays, lesbians, transexuals and transgenders whether from land lines or mobile phones. Moscovites may continue to use the familiar telephone hotline 783-83-33, founded for them in 2004 by the GLBT Center "Together".
