The sixth Mister Gay Europe 2010 contest will take place in the beginning of September in Geneva, Switzerland. Belarus is to take part in the contest for the second time and it will be represented by a resident of Berezinsky area (Minsk region).
After seven months of preliminaries in Belarus it was decided that 22-year-old Alexander Corick will represent the country in the contest. According to the internet voting, the results of photo shoot and organizing committee vote the third place in the preliminaries took Jaroslav Chetverikov, the second - Roman Kharitonov.
Alexander Corick lives and works in Minsk as a merchandising specialist in the department of opening retail stores. He says he loves and appreciates his work which he considers interesting and diverse.
Alexander Corick about his participation in the contest:
"It is difficult for LGTB-community in our country: boys and girls do not have equal rights, cannot be open and live openly with beloved because of the homophobic society. By taking part in Mister Gay Europe 2010 contest I would like to show people that we are the same, neither worse nor better, that we are just loving people and love has no color, no sex, no prejudice."
"I am a usual strong-minded guy of masculine behavior and character. I think that my victory or at least participation in the contest will help to break long-standing stereotypes and myths of Slavic people regarding homosexuality as well as to bring confidence to gays and lesbians in countries with homophobic policy."
Mister Gay Europe 2010 contest will be held from the 7th till the 12th of September in Geneva, Switzerland and Alexander Corick has started to prepare for it.
