On December 17th the Interregional social foundation "Russian LGBT-Network" has been planning to conduct a piquet "The forgotten victims of the totalitarian regime..." in Moscow. According to the press-release, the event was meant to take place at 3 pm near the Solovetskiy stone in the Lubyanskaya square.
The piquet is dedicated to the memory of innocently accused people during the Soviet Union rule for the freewill sexual relations between men (paragraph 121 of the Penal code of the USSR).
The list of participants includes LGBT-activists and human rights defenders including the chair of Moscow Helsinki group Lyudmila Alekseeva, the executive mananger of the Moscow Helsinki group Nina Tagankina, the chair of Russian LGBT-network Igor Kochetkov and others.
The participants are calling the government to official rehabilitation of the people convicted under 121st paragraph of the Penal code of the USSR and to adjudicate them as victims of the political repressions.
