The Queer-movie festival "Side-by-side" will go on a specific tour to Siberia.
On the 9th of February the festival will bring to Novosibirsk the German actor Matthias Freihoph, who will speak at a premiere of the "Coming out" movie (1989).
This film, directed by Heiner Karov, was awarded a "Silver bear" on an International Berlin film festival in 1990 as the "Best Fiction Film". "Side-by-side" will be hospitably accepted by the german Goethe cultural center.
Actually this is not the first event held in Novosibirsk. In spring 2010 the city’s administration was one of the few that tolerantly accepted the work of a well-known even abroad project that promoted a better and more modern LGBT films.
At that time the festival was welcomed by the Deputy Head of Cultural Department of the Novosibirsk region, Vladimir Miller.
This time, besides the film premiere and meeting with Matthias Freihoph, Novosibirsk citizens will have a master class "Coming out: how to say? How to understand?".
It will be conducted by a psychologist Dmitriy Andronov on the 11th of February.
