Masked men tried to disrupt opening of the new Christian LGBT group centre at the "St. Cornelius the Centurion" which took place last Sunday in Makeyevka in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
The centre of the "St. Cornelius the Centurion" became the first officially registered Christian organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgenders in the Ukraine.
During the opening masked men burst into the hall throwing firecrackers and smoke bombs everywhere. They chanted: "Death to faggots! Glory to the Ukraine!". Unknown men caused damage to the hall, almost started a fire and then retreated.
The organisers did not cancel the event which, in addition to LGBT Christians, was also attended by representatives of the press. "We have been sent congratulations on our opening from eight different countries, representatives of ten different churches, only three of which officially recognize LGBT believers, and also the Norwegian parliament ...", - quotes the publication "Facts and Comments" the story of Roman Zuev, leader of the centre of the "St. Cornelius Centurion" (automatic translation here >>).
Committed church ceremonies also took place at the meeting with Father John, who has left the Russian Orthodox Church, taking holy communion.
Roman Zuev intends to appeal to the state law enforcement agencies and is relying on a fast response from them to this nationalist attack.
LGBT activists hope that the vandals will be found and will be taken to court for damaging property.
