Representatives of the metropolitan queer community and their friends can make a choice, and affect the program of "Week against homophobia."
The preliminary plans were announced yesterday by gay activists. They expect to hold 13 events from March 27 to April 3 in Moscow and the Moscow region.
The program, published by "The Rainbow Association", is preliminary at the moment but they are preparing to open the "Week against homophobia" with three photo exhibitions: "Coming out", "Love is stronger than ..." and "Transgender’. Various discussions and workshops are also scheduled.
The creative aspect of the "Week against homophobia" is represented with a poetic workshop called "Free Microphone", and there is also a sporting element with a mini-football tournament.
This year's "Week against homophobia" is taking place in Russia for the 5th time. LGBT activists took up the idea of the "Week against homophobia " a year after this initiative was supported at the European level in 2008. During the last 5 years the Russian participants of the action were joined by more and more cities. In 2009, there were 15, and in 2010 there are already more than 20.
The "Rainbow Association" co-ordinates the activities of the week in Moscow. You can join the event on the official profile of the association in the social network "VKontakte" (the link is in Russian and may be inaccessible from abroad).
