Marxists have carried out the action in support of the beaten activist
11 Apr. 2011

The Russian section of Committee for Working International (KRI) past Sunday has carried out the action, which purpose was to make the protest against prosecution of LGBT-ACTIVISTS and inactivity of the authorities. Nearby 30 persons went out under antihomofobic slogans and rainbow flags to a monument to heroes of 1905 in Moscow.

"No attacks on LGBT activists," "Trade unionist, ecologist, immigrant, LGBT - Together Against Terror," "You beat "unlike you"? - Your salary will be not raised", "No division of the working people! No homophobia," "Homophobes became boorish" - such appeals were voiced on banners of the activists of the Committee for Working International, representatives of feminist organizations, youth „Yabloko" and the capital's" Rainbow Association.

The idea of the event came after the government of Syktyvkar twice ignored the beating of the gay activist Artem Kalinin. However, a day before it became known that upon the last attack on the leader of "Different view" was initiiated a criminal case, informs the website of KRI.

The Russian Section of the Committee for Working International is one of the main initiators of the action. Committee for Working International is an International political association. It has sections in 40 countries and is the second largest international organization after the Trotskyist Fourth International.

We remind that a week before St. Petersburg's LGBT activists have held several pickets to draw attention to the situation around the Syktyvkar gay leader.
