Rainbow NewsAlexander Lukashenko: "Better to be a dictator than a "queer"
5 Mar. 2012
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko once again responded on Sunday to the EU decision to impose sanctions against Belarusian officials and a revocation of European ambassadors from Minsk, said Belta.by.
"This is absolutely hysterical, and as you can see, at the forefront are the two types of politicians, or even two types of policies. One lives in Warsaw, the other in Berlin" - said Lukashenko.
"Well, if one of our neighbor is itching - is is understandable. As I say that there have already been maps re-drawn all the way up to Minsk, there it would be territory of Poland. Clearly, these figures need to somehow be maintained, reinforced, justified. Therefore such statements... , "- said Alexander Lukashenko.
"As for the second, either "pink", or "blue" (implying that the German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle is gay - Gay.Ru), who is insisting on dictatorship... Hearing this, I thought it was better to be a dictator, than a queer. But God bless him. Question is, - continued Lukashenko. - We all remember the middle of the last century, and what the world got out of their dictatorship. Our people have not come round since then. So they are not the ones who can blame us of a kind of dictatorship. I don't even want to speculate on this matter."
Recently, in the fall, Lukashenko already declared his hostility toward homosexuals in the conversation with Westerwelle, and that he would be happy to sent gays into state farms. But then repented of what he had said.
