Fragment of the movie poster "Patrick 1,5", dir. Ella Lemhagen
31 Mar. 2012
Four days in April, from 26 to 29, will spend in Moscow the International Festival of LGBT films "Side by Side." The organizers of the St. Petersburg film forum have promised several times to visit the capital. And after a few visits to Siberia, the film festival, that had won the support of the best LGBT programs on major international film festivals has made it to the Russian capital.
The authors of the festival's idea promise a "cultural event with a good selection of art-house cinema." Helping them in this come from embassies and consulates in more than ten countries - Britain, Israel, Sweden, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, France and others. It is known that the festival had problems with multiple platforms. Because of the pressure homophobic officials and clerics in Russia's regions cinema human rights issues refuse to show the many public and private areas. In Moscow, the prior consent has been obtained from the film club "wick" the club "Bilingva" and a cultural center named after Andrei Sakharov. But they have yet to withstand the onslaught of homophobic and religious obscurantist. We wish them courage and luck.
In Moscow, according to the preliminary program, we are expecting a real full on-site "Side by Side." As guests arrive eminent directors from Sweden (Ella Lemhagen), Israel (Tomer Heymann) and Denmark (Minna Gross and Iben Haar Andersen). Wait and actor from Germany Lucas Shteltnera.
