Five gay activists came today to the walls of the ancient Kremlin and held a large poster - "Homophobia is rednecks' religion". They shouted: "Mizulina to jail", "Russia without fascism", "Stop the State Duma's outrage!".
"Since now we give up any authorized action and dialogue with the illegitimate authorities. The main law for us is only the Russian Constitution. All fascist homophobes and other fighters for morality should remember - notwithstanding anything we will come out and tell the truth and fight for our rights" - the statement of gay action's participants on the Red Square on July 14, 2013.
They also started multicolored fire signals so that many tourists and Muscovites come closer to the scene being attracted by the action. "Soon a crowd of people gathered around us, many were tourists from Italy, Germany and the US. We were pleasantly surprised when passers-by began to applaud and cheer us up!", noted Pavel Samburov.
"Homophobes tell us to sit quietly and not to show off, that is to be closed in a ghetto. We are not doing anything shameful and we need not to hide. Homosexuality is not an illness, not a mental deviation, transgenderness is not a fad nor the sign of promiscuity. We are coming out not to talk about sex but about equal rights, respect of dignity regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Until in this country there will be the rule stereotypes and obscurantism instead of the rule of law and human rights, we are not going to be quiet. The state has declared its fascist policy when it had adopted discrimination laws. So from now on we refuse from authorized actions and dialogue with illegitimate authorities. The main law for us is the Russian Constitution. And fascist homophobes and fighters for morality should remember - notwithstanding anything we will come out and tell the truth and fight for our rights", says the action's press-release forwarded to the Moscow's mass-media.
The action lasted for 5 minutes. Its participants were detained by the police and brought to "Kitay-Gorod" police department. OVDinfo.org published their names: Davydov, Malko, Petrischev, Nameni, Lin. The detained are being accused in violation of art. 20.2 of the Russian Federal Administrative Code.
