From November 2 to 4, regular conference of Russian LGBT Network was held in Moscow. According to its organizers, it has been for the sixth year that the event is the largest LGBT forum in Russia, which units people working in the field of protection of human rights for gays and lesbians. In total, there were 50 gay activists from various Russian regions.
The distinguishing feature of the event was that, according to Russian LGBT Network, it finally stopped being just internal event of the organization. "Now it is a forum where both activists and representatives of various LGBT organizations and initiatives may take part..." says the follow-up press release.
"In the last year, the pressure to the Russian human rights sectors has been increased. Nevertheless, the recent conference has become the prove of force successful development for equal rights of LGBT . Participation in it is useful experience for LGBT activists and possibility to discuss the strategy of further work to fight discrimination and promote equality...", say gay activists, finalizing the year 2013 results, paying attention that a new subsidiary of Russian LGBT Network was established in Moscow.
