Kremlin denies receiving letters from 27 Nobel Prize laureates & 200 writers in support of LGBT
7 Feb. 2014
The Kremlin is not eager to response to the letters of 27 Nobel Prize laureates or of 200 famous writers who have openly called on the Russian authorities to repeal the laws that "limit the freedom of expression of someone's opinion".

Dmitry Peskov, the Presidential press secretary, said that the Kremlin had not received any such letters, and are not used to reacting to these tabloid notices. And actually the their [scientists and writers] main idea of was not clear".

"Frankly speaking, there were so many explanations given that those who wanted to understand, have had such an opportunity, Peskov is citing as saying. He added that the law was not aimed against gays but against propaganda of "a non traditional sex" among adolescents.

For reference : the letter of 27 Nobel Prize laureates with a demand to repeal the Mizulina law was published by the Guardian daily in January. Recently the Guardian have published the similar Appeal signed by 200 writers, play writers and producers including Günter Grass, Orhan Pamouk, Elfrida Ekinek as well as Salman Roushdee, Ludmila Ulitskaya and others... We would like to mention such writers from Russia as Yuri Ryashentsev, Andrey Nekrasov, Igor Irteniev, Sergey Gandlevsky, Olga Kouchkina, Olga Hlebnikova.

By the way, Ludmila Ulitskaya is highly likely to present her position at the police due to the breach of the Mizulina law. As we have informed you earlier, two days ago the general prosecutor's office in Uliyanovsk had begun the scrutiny process against her "Children's project "for alleged "homopropaganda".
